LAGOS ISLAND LOCAL GOVERNMENT HOSTS YEAR 2025 SPELLING BEE FOR PUBLIC SCHOOLS.
The competition, which aimed to promote academic excellence and intellectual growth among pupils and students learners, saw outstanding performances from participating schools across the Local Government. The winners were announced in both Primary and Secondary School categories, with the top performers showcasing exceptional spelling skills and vocabulary strength.
The event was graced by the The Executive Chairman represented by the Vice Chairman Hon. Arulai Folami, he praised the winners for their exceptional spelling skills and composure during the competition. He further encouraged them to remain dedicated to their studies, emphasising the importance of education in achieving success.
The wife of the Executive Chairman, Mrs Oyekan able represented by wife the vice chairman Ms kehinde Folami, keynote address, highlighted the notable achievements in the educational sector, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to promoting academic excellence.
After a keenly contested competition, the winners in the primary category were announced as follows:
- MUHAMMAD AISHAT from Elegbeta Pry. School, emerged the winner; A-day Executive Chairman.
- YUSUF AMUDALAT from Ansarudeen Pry. School.- Second Position.
- ELEGBELEYE HAYAT from Holy Trinity Primary School – Third Position – came third.
In the secondary category,
- JUNAID EKO from Isale Eko Grammer, emerged as the winner; First Position to represent the Lagos Island Local Government at the state level.
- FRANCS EMMANUEL from Elegbeta Senior High School – Second Position
- OYEBANJO KOWIYAT from Isale Eko Grammer School – Third position.
The winners are set to represent Lagos Island at the state level of the competition, and their outstanding performances have brought pride to their schools and the Local Government as a whole.
